CompactPCI Board Packs 333-MHz Pentium

Nov. 1, 1999

Using Intel's latest 0.25-µm-technology Pentium II Mobile Module, the PP PSE/P23 single-slot 6U size CompactPCI processor module operates at 333 MHz with 32 kbytes of L1 cache and 256 kbytes of full-speed L2 cache; it also incorporates Intel's 440BX chipset. A key feature of the Mobile Module is its low power consumption that allows the PP PSE/P23 to operate in a 0°C to 55°C environment without the use of a CPU fan. The board comes with 64 Mbytes of SDRAM and supports up to 384 Mbytes. Other standard features include Ultra and Ultra Wide-SCSI, EIDE with Ultra-DMA, 10/100-Mbit Ethernet controller and a graphics module with 4 Mbytes of SGRAM that provides resolutions up to 1600 x 1200. The board also includes two USB ports as well as the standard PC interfaces for floppy drives, printer port, keyboard, mouse and serial channels.
