A new family of high-efficiency, high-density, single-output dc-to-dc converters makes use of the company's Vx power technology that's found wide acceptance in distributed power systems for telecommunications. Included in the family are four series: the 50W VKA50xS, the 60W VKA60xS, the 75W VKA75xS and the 100W VKA100xS. All are in half-brick sizes of 2.3" x 2.4" x 0.5". In addition, all offer wide-range inputs of 24V nominal (18V to 36V) and 48V nominal (33V to 75V) with output voltages of 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V and 24V.The converters' proprietary control circuit responds to 50% to 100% load steps in 35 µs to within 1% of the nominal output voltage. With slew rates of more than 75A/µs, the dc-to-dc converters are suited for powering disk drives and low-voltage microprocessors, or any applications that require dynamic load current response while maintaining tight output voltage accuracy. The series can also be used as drop-in replacements.
