Employing a Xilinx Spartan-3 FPGA with up to one million gates, the ZestSC1 desktop FPGA development board integrates a USB 2.0 interface operating at 480 Mb/s or at full-speed USB 1.1 rates of 12 Mb/s. It achieves a constant bandwidth of over 40 MB/s

Employing a Xilinx Spartan-3 FPGA with up to one million gates, the ZestSC1 desktop FPGA development board integrates a USB 2.0 interface operating at 480 Mb/s or at full-speed USB 1.1 rates of 12 Mb/s. It achieves a constant bandwidth of over 40 MB/s using the streaming interface of the USB hardware engine. The FPGA is configurable from the host computer over the USB, which also negotiates data transfers between the board and the host. Configuration takes less than 20 ms, allowing on-the-fly configuration of the FPGA. Additionally, the board measures less than 7.5 cm x 12.5 cm, making it viable for use with a laptop. Software drivers and libraries for Windows and logic core libraries are included. ORANGE TREE TECHNOLOGIES, Oxfordshire, UK. +44 (0) 1235 511020.
