The MAX3674 dual-output clock generator exploits a low-noise VCO and PLL architecture to generate clock speeds up to 1.36 GHz with 5 ps of jitter from either its on-board crystal oscillator or an external LVCMOS clock. The device integrates two differential LVPECL outputs for equal or different frequencies to eliminate one high-frequency crystal oscillator. Additionally, an I2C-compatible interface enables fine-tuning of the output for frequency-margining testing. The MAX3674 operates over a temperature range from -40°C to +85°C and from a 3.3V ±5% supply. Available in a lead-free, 48-pin LQFP, prices start at $12 each/1,000.
