Embedded: Board Secures Net Communication

Securing transmissions over the Internet or wireless links is now easier for embedded developers using a serial interface with the release of Live System for the eZ-APN. Zilog's eZ-APN includes a serial connection, encryption support, and a plug-in connection for a cellular GSM/GPRS modem, Ethernet connection, or telephone modem connection. The board runs the company's Live System software, which handles encryption and communication with a remote system. The local device connects to the eZ-APN using the serial interface. The eZ-APN is priced under $100 without a communications plug-in. Development kits are available.
