Embedded Flash Reaches 100-MHz Access Speed

TSMC has unveiled the first 100-MHz flash memory single-cycle access speed embedded flash intellectual property (IP).
Amsterdam, The Netherlands: TSMC has unveiled the first 100-MHz flash memory single-cycle access speed embedded flash intellectual property (IP). The 100-MHz flash access speed will allow faster on-chip flash memory access and superior integration with high-performance processors.

Built on TSMC’s 90-nm logic process node, the macro delivers significantly reduced size and speed that’s several times faster than its 0.18-µm counterpart. It provides single-chip memory and logic functionality, saving board space and enhancing system reliability.

The IP will be used across communications, industrial, and automotive microcontroller (MCU) products. TSMC is still the only foundry with multiple-generation embedded flash IP that meets AEC-Q100.
