Global positioning systems (GPSs) are critical in applications like vehicle navigation, telematics, location, and fleet management systems. With the addition of the OrbiTrak 8R to a PC/104 single-board computer, the system can calculate its location and altitude. The board supports the NMEA 0183 and TAIP ASCII protocols, as well as binary TSIP GPS protocol.
