The VMIVME-5565 fiber-optic, reflective-memory VMEbus board allows computers, PLCs, and other embedded controllers with different or no operating systems to share data in real time between up to 256 nodes at rates to 174 MB/s. It can be configured with either 64MB or 128 MB of SDRAM. Features include a latency of less than 700 ns node-to-node, two independent DMA channels, error detection, no processor overhead, PCI 64-bit/66-MHz compatibility, and backward compatibility with 32-bit/33-MHz transfers. Operating system support includes Windows NT/2000, VxWorks, and Linux. VMIC, Huntsville, AL. (800) 322-3616.
