By combining a CMOS image sensor, fiber optic scintillator, ICs, and control circuits, the C7410 flat panel sensor can produce high-quality images at a TV scan rate. The device's ability to acquire digital X-ray images in real-time make it a useful tool for non-destructive inspection of semiconductors.
The CMOS sensor features a 2D active detector matrix of 256 x 256 photodiodes with FET switches. The fiber optic scintillator is comprised of a fiber optic plate with a scintillator. The video images created by the device can be transferred through its output ports to either a Windows-based PC or a Power Mac with a 75 ohm analog image grabber board and video memory.
