The EPC9013 development board can operates in buck, boost, or bidirectional modes, as well as a half-bridge, for motor drives and isolated converter applications. Efficient Power Conversion’s (EPC) 2- by 2-in. board integrates eight 100-V EPC2001 enhancement-mode (eGaN) field-effect transistors (FETs) in conjunction with Texas Instruments’ LM5113 gate driver. Each EPC2001 performs at up to 35-A maximum output current in buck mode using a four-half-bridge configuration in parallel and a single onboard gate drive. The printed-circuit-board (PCB) layout optimizes switching performance. Various probe points facilitate simple waveform measurement and evaluation of eGaN FETs. An accompanying “Quick Start Guide” contains setup procedures, circuit diagram, performance curves, and BOM.
