Integrating on-board controlled turn-on and quick output discharge to simplify subsystem load management, the TPS229xx family of integrated load switches comes in wafer chip-scale packaging as small as 0.8- by 0.8-mm. The package is 10 times smaller than a conventional discrete solution. The switches feature very low on resistances and a low operating voltage range of 0.9 to 3.6 V, which suits a variety of portable applications. Maximum continuous switching current is up to 2 A. The TPS22901 and TPS22902 have a 78-mO on resistance in a four-terminal package and cost $0.32. The TPS22903 has a 66-mO on resistance in a four-terminal package ($0.32). The TPS22906 has a 90 mO on resistance in a 0.9 mm by 0.9 mm four-terminal package ($0.32). The TPS22921 and TPS22922 have a 14 mO on resistance in a 1.2 mm by 0.8 mm six-terminal package ($0.42). All prices are for quantities of 1000 units. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC., Dallas, TX. (888) 772-3544.
