A development tool for designing speech recognition for everyday household electronics is available in the VoiceDirect Speech Recognition Kit. VoiceDirect technology uses a speaker-independent speech recognition module that recognizes up to 15 words or phrases lasting up to 3.2 seconds in any language. The module is powered by the firm’s VoiceDirect processor.The kit comes complete with almost everything necessary to apply speech recognition to common electronic products. It includes the assembled VoiceDirect module (which contains a microphone preamp, serial EEPROM and oscillator), a microphone element, speaker, three microswitches, two 100-kiloohm resistors, and a quick setup guide. Users supply soldering tools and solder, a power supply, multimeter, wire, 0.1" headers, a small prototyping board, and their imagination.
