Prepared for the company's PCI and PMC digital receiver boards and modules, the Model 4994 Linux kernel v2.4 drivers provide developers complete access to the capabilities of the hardware through driver calls. The first two boards to gain Linux support are the Model 7631 PCI board and the Model 7131 PMC module. Both feature dual a/d converters, 16 multi-band receiver channels, and user-programmable Virtex-II FPGAs. Model 4994 Linux drivers promise to reduce development time during initial software development stages, as well as when I/O hardware is added to the system. Additionally, these drivers are said to be written with a consistent style and parameter naming convention, allowing similar parameters on different I/O modules to have nearly identical driver calls. Pricing for the drivers starts at $1,500 and a one-year subscription is available for $2,500. For more details, contact Mario Schiavone at PENTEK INC., Upper Saddle River, NJ.
