With a specified life expectancy of 10,000 cycles (100,000 cycles in some applications), the PT Series of trimmer potentiometers is said to deliver cost savings compared with comparable controls. The trimmers are single-turn types in 6 mm, 10 mm and 15 mm sizes. All feature a dust-proof enclosure and come in horizontal or vertical pc board-mount models. Resistive elements are either carbon (PT models) or cermet (PTC models). Mechanical detents can be added to define wiper position, and the pots can be supplied with or without a shaft or with a thumbwheel.Typical applications include use as inexpensive controls for incremental increases/decreases, such as volume controls in audio gear and speed controls in appliances.
