The new reflectIR® line is designed for use in non-dispersive infrared (NDIR) gas and chemical sensor systems. The parabolic reflector provides in-band emissions in the 2 to 5, 2 to 12, and 2 to 20 um ranges. According to the company, a patented filament fabrication process increases output above 4 um, improving the on-axis power signal at the detector, and the light radiation pattern is independent of reflector rotation. An operating temperature of less than 850°C reduces the chance of igniting combustible gases, improves efficiency, and reduces parasitic heating. An evaluation kit including drive board with parameters adjustable in a Windows application is available for $245.
