The PC-LineScan is claimed to be the only frame grabber to integrate real-time processing functions such as acceleration on board. Features like run-length encoding and flat-field correction, traditionally processed through software, are now integrated on the board. The open architecture board includes performance enhancements that collect and analyze large amounts of data in real time and compensate for variations in lighting. Other features include 32 MB of memory, data transfer rates up to 256 MB/s, and continuous transfers to system or VGA memory at rates greater than 100 MB/s. Additional features include two opto-coupled trigger inputs, two RS-232 ports, and an OPTO22-compatible parallel port. Prices start at $2,500.
