The complete Media Server Reference Solution running on the Freescale MPC8349E-mITX reference platform is now available from Green Hills Software Inc. and Allegro Software Development Corp. By supporting a proven, scalable platform for use in next-generation media servers, the reference solution accelerates the development process and reduces time-to-market. The solution is based on each company's mature, widely deployed commercial software. The Media Server Reference Solution consists of several components:

• the MULTI integrated development environment and TimeMachine tool suite • Green Hills' C/C++ compilers for Power Architecture • the Integrity royalty-free real-time operating system • a complete board-support package for the MPC8349E-mITX • integrated middleware support for TCP/IP v4/v6, networking security (IPSec/ILE, SSL, SSH), and advanced file system support for wear-leveling flash, ATA, and SATA devices • Digital Living Network Alliance/Universal Plug and Play (DLNA/UPnP) support • Green Hills' Probe for debugging using the microprocessor's JTAG port.
