Not surprisingly, VIA Technologies was showing off its plethora of Mini-ITX and Nano-ITX motherboards including the new 1.5GHz EPIA EX15000G and fanless 1GH EPIA EX10000EG. They both run the C7 x86-compatible processor along with the VIA CX700M2 chipset.

Not surprisingly, VIA Technologies was showing off its plethora of Mini-ITX and Nano-ITX motherboards including the new 1.5GHz EPIA EX15000G (Fig. 1) and fanless 1GH EPIA EX10000EG. They both run the C7 x86-compatible processor along with the VIA CX700M2 chipset.

These 17 cm by 17 cm Mini-ITX boards forego the usual PS/2 and VGA connectors on the back panel replacing them with the newer interface standards. The boards use the integrated VIA UniChromeTM Pro II 3D/2D AGP graphics support with MPEG-2/4 and WMV9 video decoding acceleration. The board also include the VIA VT1625M HDTV Encoder for hi-def output. The board has a DVI connector instead of the usual VGA adapter. It also support S-video output. A SCART and D-terminal output board is optional. There is analog and digital audio IO.

There is an on-board Fast Ethernet controller. The 1Gbit Ethernet controller is optional. The board can handle up to 1Gbyte of DDR2 533 memory and it has the usual, single PCI slot. There is one UltraDMA 133/100/66/33 IDE interface plus a pair of SATA interfaces. There are two USB ports on the back plus headers for four more. There is also a 1394 interface. A header for a PS/2 mouse or keyboard is available. An LPC header provides access to custom IO.
