Targeted at OEMs addressing the ISP and thin server markets, the SPARCengine Ultra Axe PCI-based motherboard allows users to create a fully integrated platform running on the 64-bit UltraSPARC processor. The board is designed for applications that require full functionality on a single ATX form factor board. With a riser card, the board fits into a 1U form factor for thin servers. The SPARCengine Ultra Axe board is said to provide a high-performance solution for cost-sensitive applications and to deliver a flexible foundation for integrators to build server appliances or custom configured servers addressing the needs of the evolving service provider market. The board is priced at less than $1,000 in volume.
