The QMSS/QFSS series of shielded connectors provides electrical multiple unit (EMU) shielding by using shield plates along the connector’s sides and terminating them to the pc board via selected pins. Single-ended and differential-pair versions are standard. Application-specific versions with other signal/ground configurations are also available. The connectors come in 0.25-in. pitch 52-, 104-, and 208-pin units. They’re hot-pluggable, as the shields and ground plates mate first. Then, the signal pins mate. Besides vertical mating with 11-mm spacing between boards, edge-mount, power combo, and unshielded versions are also available. Pricing is $0.12 to $0.14 per mated line.
