Nonincendive Keyboards Bask In Hazardous Environments

The company's line of nonincendive and intrinsically safe keyboards meet the specifications and requirements to properly function in potentially volatile locations. They employ parts and wiring that are incapable of releasing sufficient electrical or thermal energy that could cause ignition of a specific hazardous atmospheric mixture. This achievement comes by limiting the amount of power available to the electrical equipment in the hazardous area to a level below that which could ignite the gases. All of the keyboards carry Factory Mutual certification for Class I, II, and III, Division I, Groups C, D, E, F, and G. Other features include a stainless steel case or bezel with industrial silicone rubber keypads or overlays. IKEY INC., Austin, TX. (800) 866-6506.
