The COP8SGR7 is a single-chip, one-time-programmable (OTP), 8-bit microcontroller with 32 kbytes of program memory space. The µC lets designers achieve faster time-to-market by eliminating the need to compact the initial program code to fit a smaller memory. After code optimization, users can maximize price/performance by changing to a ROM product that is priced according to the actual size of the programmed memory. The firm also offers the COP8SGE7, an 8-bit device with 8 kbytes of EPROM. Both µCs offer a full-duplex, software-programmable UART/USART for fast implementation of communication protocols and two analog comparators that can be used for zero-crossover detection or single/dual slope. Also, 512 bytes of on-board RAM is available for on-chip memory storage. Both devices have a 2.7V to 5.5V operating range and are offered in several packages for commercial and industrial uses.
