PowerPC 750 CPU Board Boasts 400-MHz Performance

Aug. 1, 1999

Combining the PowerPC 750 processors with the VME Speedway direct path from the CPU to the VMEbus, VGM5 dual processor VME card provides non-block transfer performance that is reported to be twice as fast as other PowerPC boards. For the highest end, hard real-time applications, the board supports VxWorks, Lynx, pSOS and Linux. A single processor version is available. Offering an optional secondary PØ•PCI 64-bit bus, data transfer can be up to 264 Mbytes/s compared to the standard VMEbus 80 Mbytes/s.
