Offering a 35% size reduction over the MCX series, the MMCX series of RF connectors promises a balance of size, durability and performance for emerging applications in GPS, automotive and wireless communications, as well as other commercial applications. The connectors provide a snap-on interface that eases assembly by eliminating the need for a threaded connection. Operating frequency range is from dc to 6 GHz in temperatures from -55°C to 155°C. Electrical parameters include a characteristic impedance of 50 ohms and a minimum return loss of -20.8 dB at frequencies up to 6 GHz. The interconnects have a life span of up to 500 cycles and are available in SMT, pc board-edge mount, straight, and right-angle configurations for popular cable sizes. Price for a standard R/A cable plug-to-straight PCB jack pair or a straight cable plug-to-R/A PCB jack pair is $2.25 each/5,000. TYCO ELECTRONICS, Harrisburg, PA. (800) 522-6752.
