Juggling processing speed and power consumption while allowing for a wide operating-temperature range, the EBC-C3 single-board computer (SBC) is self titled as the embedded market's fastest x86-compatible board with an operating temperature from -40°C to 85°C without the aid of a fan. The board employs a 733-MHz Eden ESP7000 processor with integrated L1/L2 cache. Typical power consumption when running at full speed is less than 1W. The board supports up to 512 MB of PC133 SDRAM, Type I or II compact flash cards with up to 1 GB of solid-state storage, and disk-on-chip flash devices, SRAM, and EPROM. Other features include Ultra DMA interfaces, a 4X AGP video controller, two 10/100 Ethernet controllers, four serial and four USB interfaces, and a wide variety of standard I/O. With 256 MB of SDRAM, the 146 mm x 203 mm board operates on 5V and draws 3.1A. Price is $695 each in small quantities. For more details, contact WINSYSTEMS INC, Arlington, TX. (817) 274-7553.
