The Platinum Edition of Code Composer Studio integrated development environment (IDE) provides a single IDE that supports the company’s multiple DSP platforms in one installation at the cost of a single platform. This edition adds two new features: a rewind function that allows users to back-step through their source code with a single keystroke and a connect/disconnect feature for hot swapping a target board to eliminate hardware suspects during debug. Other added features include CodeWright Editor and Component manager. Said to be the industry’s most popular editor, CodeWright gives new developers the comfort of using a familiar tool. Component Manager enables the installation and evaluation of a new compiler or DSP/BIOS kernel version before committing them to the design. Price for the IDE is $3,600. A free 120-day evaluation version is available on CD-ROM. TEXAS INSTRUMENTS INC., Dallas, TX. (800) 477-8924
