Engineered for use in hybrid circuits and low-profile pc boards in which inductance must be minimized and board real estate maximized, the TC Series of solid tantalum chip capacitors come in all five EIA case sizes (i.e., A through E) and can withstand high-volume SMT processing conditions, including vapor-phase, wave, infrared, and hot-plate soldering methods.
The devices meet EIA 535BAAC and IEC QC300801/US0001 specs. And they boast of a low equivalent series resistance (ESR) and high ripple current carrying capability and come in eight voltages ranging from 4 to 50 Vdc and span capacitance values extending from 0.1 to 220 µF. Standard capacitance tolerances for the chip caps are ±20% and ±10% and their operating temperature range goes from -55°C to 85°C or to 125°C with voltage derating. Prices for TC Series tantalum chip capacitors range from $0.20 to $2.00 each in standard tape-and-reel packages.
