Specialty Connectors Enable Higher Density Applications

Feb. 1, 2001

A new series of high-density, 0.05" edge card connectors feature right angle bends and come with or without mounting ears. According to the company, this will allow for much higher density applications versus the traditional 0.1" and 0.156" products. These parts are available in all common architectures (PCI, MCA, etc.) as well as in a wide variety of sizes, from 6 position (2 x 6 contacts) to 110 position (2 x 110 contacts). The parts are available in a variety of insular materials, including reflow compatible parts. Plus, longer than usual contact tail lengths are available, allowing these parts to be used on both standard pc boards and almost any custom board thickness.
