Tiny Color Camera Module Is Detachable

July 1, 2000

Measuring only 5.6 mm x 5.6 mm x 5.4 mm and weighing only 1 gram, the GP-KS462 Super Micro Color Camera Module is well suited for industrial and medical applications where both size and performance are critical. The detachable camera head module, combined with its octagonal shape, allows system designers the added flexibility of placing the camera head in locations where conventional camera modules will not fit.
The 1/4" color CCD produces 480 lines of color resolution with a signal-to-noise ratio of 50 dB or better, it's claimed. The camera head is only 6.7 mm in diameter and 30.3 mm in length. It can be separated from the circuit board module over distances up to 150 mm. Incorporating external electrode pads for cable connection facilitates easy connection to the camera control unit up to 10 meters from the camera. Pricing for the module is set at $438.00.
