The dual-element 0405 MultiGuard multi-layer ceramic transient voltage suppression (TVS) array is said to pack the equivalent of two separate 0402 varistors, or four back-to-back diodes with two EMI capacitors. As with other MultiGuard Series chips, the new 0405 device is designed to provide bi-directional ESD protection, EMI attenuation, and sub-nanosecond response times. The 0405 chip arrays are available in 5.6V, 14V and 18V versions, with a 0.02J energy rating and a typical capacitance range of from 40 pF at 14V and 18V to 360 pF at 5.6V.
