Bridge Rectifiers Provide Portable Devices With High Power Densities Devices in the DF series of compact, single-phase, full-wave bridge rectifiers come with power-to-volume ratios that are designed to provide greater power density in high-volume industrial and consumer electronic devices. These rectifiers can be used in compact power supplies and battery chargers for cellular phones, notebook computers, and other portable and rechargeable devices. They're compatible with all standard PC board assembly and soldering techniques.

By soldering below 245°C, designers can minimize solder oxidation without losing meniscus and fillet formation. It's also possible to solder between 250°C and 260°C for 8 to 10 seconds. An electrically insulated, UL-approved case provides high thermal conductivity. Their junction-to-case thermal resistance reaches 60°C/W. The maximum repetitive peak reverse voltage ranges from 50 to 1000 V. And, they operate between −55°C and 150°C.

Multilayer Chip Inductors Cut EMI In High-Frequency Circuits According to its manufacturer, the HK series of multilayer chip inductors reduces EMI, increases battery life, and improves overall efficiency in portable devices requiring high-frequency circuits. Models in the family include 100% silver internal conductors and advanced dielectric ceramics. Three case sizes are available. The 0402 version ranges from 1.0 to 120 nH, along with 0.04- to 1.1-Ω dc resistance. The 0603 model ranges from 1.0 to 220 nH, and the 0805 spans 1.5 to 470 nH. All models are surface-mountable and available on tape-and-reel for high-speed manufacturing. They also are available in current ratings up to 300 mA.

Customizable Transformers Suit Medical And Audio Applications The devices in a line of toroid transformers can be customized for a host of applications, from medical to audio. They meet a full range of standards, including UL/CSA/TUV IEC601, IEC101, and IEC65. Their power ranges less than 10 kVA at operating frequencies below 500 kHz with inputs or outputs less than 600 V. Insulation meets class B (130C) or class H (180C) requirements. Electrical isolation between windings is 4 kV min.

Transformer Series Complies With EPA Energy Star Specifications The E version of a line of low-voltage general-purpose (LVGP) transformers complies with the EPA Energy Star Program's efficiency initiative (NEMA TP-1). These devices have the same physical dimensions of the standard LVGP unit, consuming a minimum of floor space. They have maximum losses at an average calculated load of 35% of the nameplate rating. Models are available in single phase from 15 to 167 kVA, and in three phase voltages from 15 to 500 kVA. They also feature UL-3R enclosures with optional weathershields.

High-Powered Termination Employs Thermal-Imaging Photography The 150-WT-FN high-powered termination uses thermal-imaging photography to guarantee even heat distribution. It's rated at an average of 150 W at 25°C and a nominal impedance of 50 Ù. Also, its frequency range and VSWR are dc to 1 GHz at 1.10:1 maximum, and 1 to 2.4 GHz at 1.25:1.

The 150-WT-FN includes N female connectors. Additionally, it measures 4.85 by 5.40 by 4.30 in. and it weighs about 2.5 lbs.

Resettable Circuit-Protection Devices Rated From 0.2 To 2.6 A The 1812 series of surface-mount positive temperature coefficient (PTC) resettable circuit-protection devices helps designers comply with the industry's lead-free initiatives. Models in the series are rated from 0.2 to 2.6 A, and they measure 4.55 by 3.25 mm. Their castilated terminal design protects circuits against overcurrent conditions in a host of computer and peripheral applications.

Designed for plug-and-play applications, they conform to the USB standard requirements for connecting peripherals to computers.
