By covering a frequency range of 5220 to 5420 MHz and using only a 0.5 to 4.5 Vdc control voltage, the V940ME04 voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) answers the demand for broadband fixed wireless applications. The device delivers low phase noise performance in a compact, low-profile package and is well suited for quick integration into PLLs where the error voltage can be taken directly from ICs charge circuitry. The device realizes a spectral purity of –105 dBc/Hz (typically) at 100 kHz from the carrier. It strengthens any PLL with its 1:1:1 linearity over frequency and temperature and suppresses the second harmonic to better than –30 dBc. The device also conserves energy by operating off a 5 Vdc supply while drawing only 26 mA. Designed to operate over the extreme temperature range of –30°C to +85°C, the device comes in an industry-standard, 0.50" x 0.50" x 0.13" package. Pricing is $15.95 each.
