Battery Management IC Claims Highest Accuracy

The PS334 battery management IC is claimed to have the highest level of accuracy in the industry for capacity monitoring and charge control/safety. The device includes six programmable outputs that are said to eliminate the need for additional components normally required for providing charge control or safety.
The programmable outputs can be used as LED outputs for state of charge, direct charge control, or for additional levels of safety when used with Li-Ion battery packs. Any output can be programmed to support safety requirements, such as disabling charge or discharge or to blow a fuse.
Charge control and safety features are implemented using real-time information. Current measurement accuracy is to within 1%, voltage accuracy is to within ±50 mV, and temperature accuracy is to within 1°C. Pricing for the PS334 is $4 each in sample quantities.
