The ED-470 high-output blue LED emits over a 120° range (typical), reducing the need for arrays in high-power applications requiring a large angular coverage. Its single-chip and single-package design enables better collimation via an external lens as compared with a chip or package array providing a comparable output. The LED features a typical output of 30 mW dc and a peak emission wavelength of 470 nm. In 100-unit quantities, the device costs $7.50 each.
