Jan. 7, 2019
MILPITAS, CASEMI, the global industry association serving the electronics manufacturing supply chain, today appointed SEMI Taiwan president Terry Tsao chief marketing officer (CMO), reporting to SEMI president and CEO Ajit Manocha. Tsao will remain SEMI Taiwan president as he assumes CMO responsibilities.

“Terry’s new role as SEMI CMO reflects the vital importance of Asia to the global microelectronics community and will enhance SEMI’s visibility in a region critical to the future of the industry,” Manocha said. “His leadership will be key in enabling SEMI members to speed time to better business results while supporting the semiconductor supply chain to double sales from $2 trillion to $4 trillion over the next five years.”

As CMO, Tsao will work to establish SEMI as the voice of the global microelectronics manufacturing supply chain and grow SEMI’s influence and value in the electronics supply chain while driving operational enhancements to SEMI’s global marketing operations. He will oversee global marketing strategy and communications, lead global business and product development, and focus on strengthening SEMI’s global presence and brand. Tsao will also spearhead SEMI’s recently launched industry image campaign to support SEMI’s workforce development initiatives, heighten awareness of semiconductor manufacturing and recruit top talent. A 12-year veteran of the SEMI Taiwan leadership team, Tsao has played a pivotal role in connecting the vital Taiwan microelectronics community with the broader Asia and worldwide semiconductor industries. He has brought together industry leaders, government officials and other key players to facilitate industry innovation and growth. In addition, Tsao’s considerable marketing expertise has been central to the success of SEMICON Taiwan.
