The CAT9552 16-channel I2C/SMBus LED driver/blinker drives up to 16 LEDs in either programmable flashing or on/off modes. It integrates an oscillator and two programmable on/off or blink rate timers, adjustable from 0.02s to 5.8s, which reduce overall part counts and I2C bus traffic. Each of the 16 open drain outputs can deliver 25 mA of current each and unused I/Os can be employed as general purpose I/Os. Pricing for the CAT9552 LED driver/blinker is $1 each/10,000.
