Fairchild Semiconductor has announced the promotion of Ole-Petter Brusdal to vice president of Sales and Marketing for Europe. Based at Fairchild’s Global Power Resource design center and sales office in Fuerstenfeldbruck, Germany, Brusdal will direct all sales and marketing activities in Europe. He will report to Tom Beaver, Fairchild’s executive vice president, Worldwide Sales and Marketing.

“Ole-Petter has contributed significantly in the ongoing development of our presence in Europe and the successful implementation of our power design center in Germany. One of six Global Power Resource design centers worldwide, the Furstenfeldbruck site can turn complete power solution designs in as little as two weeks, enhancing customers’ critical time-to-market requirements," Beaver said. "Ole-Petter has the leadership ability and people to grow Fairchild’s presence while driving superior customer support in the OEM, distributor and EMS segments in Europe.”

Brusdal joined Fairchild when the company was established in 1997 and has held various sales and marketing positions supporting segments and geographic territories in Europe and the Americas. His 18-year career includes employment with companies such as National Semiconductor and Tahonic (Arrow).
