The first in a line of several direct demodulators for use in various wireless communication applications, including WiMAX and cellular infrastructure, the SKY73012 is well suited for quadrature demodulation of rf waveforms from 400 to 3900 MHz, according to Skyworks Solutions Inc. The device is an integrated, broadband, high-dynamic-range demodulator with differential outputs that can be directly connected to most commonly available analog-to-digital converters (view the demodlator here ). It is also suited for CDMA, UMTS, and GSM/GPRS receivers, WiMAX (IEEE 802.16) radios, RFID readers, power amplifier feedback/linearization, wireless local loops, and wireless local area networks.

The high dynamic range and second-order input intercept point (IIP2) and IIP3 value of the SKY73012 make it ideal for use in direct conversion and low-IF receivers. The device features an integrated local oscillator balun and amplifier, differential IF output, and on-chip in-phase and quadrature (I/Q) phase splitter. It runs off a single +3.0-V supply. The demodulator comes in lead-free, RoHS-compliant packaging. The SKY73012 is currently available and in volume production. For customized pricing, contact Skyworks Solutions Inc.
