Sensor Detects Transparent Objects

June 1, 2001

Capable of detecting clear objects and translucent or opaque objects through a transparent medium, the FPDM 16 sensor has 4-m sensing range and a response time of less than 2.5 ms. Said to have a wide dynamic range, the sensor automatically adjusts and maintains accuracy in heavily contaminated lens conditions.
The component features a die-cast zinc housing that measures 50 mm x 50 mm x 15.4 mm and is IP 67 sealed. Connector versions are standard and an alignment indicator is included to facilitate setup. A range of reflectors and reflective tapes are also available.
