Thermally Conductive Epoxy Provides High-Impact Bonds

Aug. 1, 1998

Developed specifically for staking transistors, resistors, integrated circuits and heat-sensitive components in printed circuit electronic applications, TRA-CAST 3145 is a black, medium-viscosity, thermally conductive and electrically insulating two-part epoxy adhesive that cures at room temperature. The adhesive produces durable, high-impact bonds that dramatically improve heat transfer while maintaining electrical insulation. The adhesive's glass-transition temperature and chemical resistance makes it well suited for harsh environments. It bonds extremely well to substrates such as metal, glass, ceramic, most plastics, and many other materials. When fully cured, it's said to provide excellent resistance to salt solutions, mild acids and alkalis, petroleum solvents, alcohol, and many other chemicals.Epoxy is available in packages of various sizes to provide cost-effective manufacturing practices. Samples of TRA-CAST 3145 are immediately available.
