Available in TO-252 and TO-220 packages, respectively, the IXCY10M90S and IXCP10M90S current regulators are normally on and require a negative gate bias of 5V to turn them completely off. A current limit of 1 to 100 mA can be programmed either by gate voltage or by a resistor in series with the cathode. The devices can maintain this current up to 900V, subject to the temperature and power limitations of the silicon chip and package. The dynamic resistance is 100 kiloohms and current regulation is ±5% from 25°C to 125°C. Typical applications include over voltage and over current protection for sensitive loads, inrush current limiters, soft-start applications and adjustable current regulators. Price in 1K quantities is $1.50 for IXCP10M90S and $0.99 for IXCY10M90S.
