Designed for use with external lithium niobate fiber-optic modulators, the CMM2030-BD optical driver amplifier is said to reduce power consumption by up to 75% by delivering a higher gain than comparable devices. A pHEMT GaAs medium power, 23-dBm amplifier, the device operates from 30 kHz to 32 GHz with a linear 11-dB gain response. When used in conjunction with the company's CMM3020-BD amplifier, typical output voltage is 7.5 Vp-p. The bias voltage can be adjusted to reduce this output voltage as needed. Price is $90 each/5,000.
