A very low dropout voltage of 90 mV typical at 50 mA load current enables the TK716 regulator to deliver longer operation in battery-powered equipment. An internal output disconnect switch prevents low-capacitance loads in the application circuit from discharging, thereby reducing capacitance losses often associated with the sleep or standby modes in wireless systems.Quiescent current for the regulator is just 70 µA with standby current of 0.1 µA. An internal shutdown circuit limits the junction temperature to below 150°C, and load current is monitored for shutdown in short-circuit or overload conditions.
