Fractional Synthesizers Keep Low Profile

Feb. 1, 2000

Operating in a frequency range of from 100 to 2500 MHz using a commercially-available fractional chip, these new low-profile SMT fractional synthesizers were designed to provide better phase noise, lower step size, low power consumption, and improved spurious rejection compared to conventional integer synthesizers. Step size is from 10 to 1000 kHz. The synthesizers are available in standard 124S, 192 and 197 packages.
