The lightweight lithium manganese dioxide batteries are used in CMOS and computer clock backup applications because of their 3.0V per cell rating and 10-year shelf life.Because the batteries are used in electrostatically-sensitive equipment, special assembly procedures are normally specified. House of Batteries says it exceeds industry standards here by assembling the batteries in an ESD and ISO9002-compliant facility using high frequency microprocessor-controlled welders.
