I/O System Offers Low-Cost Manufacturing Control

Dec. 1, 2000

The Advanced Distributed I/O System (ADS) is said to provide a cost-effective solution for manufacturing control using optically-isolated I/O, rugged-industrial packaging, flexible mounting options, and distributed intelligence to provide maximum versatility for a wide range of applications. Components used in the system include high-density analog, digital, communications and motion control I/O modules, a DIN rail enclosure, and a 486 Linux-based processor.
The ADS allows for up to 512 points of I/O in 191 cubic inches. The system is also said to provide seamless integration and development using the company's client-server control system software.
In addition, the system's memory mapped direct I/O is claimed to provide the industry's fastest loop-time response.
