Positive Lock Tab-On Connectors Simplify Mating

Jan. 1, 2001

The Series PS connectors provide housings and tab-on terminals for fast, positive lock connections to #110, 187, 205 and 250 tabs. Mating and unmating is simplified via a special contact lock spring, which is disengaged by holding the housing during disconnect. The locking mechanism assures that accidental disengagement does not take place. A housing lance is employed to reduce insertion force, yet still hold the contact firmly in place. A stopper inside the housing prevents mis-insertion of the terminal into the housing. Current rating of the crimp-type straight tab terminals is 25A ac/dc (with AWG #10 wire and #250 tab) at 250V ac/dc. Wire sizes AWG #1 to #26 are accommodated. Contacts are made from a brass, tin-plated material. Housing material is Nylon 66 rated UL94V-0 and UL94V-2. The PS connectors cost $0.08 each in typical OEM quantities.
