Software Reduces Power Supply Design Time

Dec. 1, 2000

Offered as a time-saving tool for power supply designers, the PI Expert software allows users to enter their power supply input, output and optimization requirements. In less than one minute, the application determines the critical components needed for a working switched mode power supply. These include the power IC, input capacitor, output diodes, and design details for the transformer. The same design process without the aid of this type of application could take weeks or months.
The software comes on CD-ROM and includes several other useful tools, which include demonstration videos, help files, and a complete library of the company's data sheets, application notes, and design tools. PI Expert is offered free of charge and is available on the company's web site.
