An algorithm incorporated in the MT9300B echo-cancellation IC is said to enable the highest quality of service (QoS) for voice over IP (VoIP) gateways, voice over DSL and other multi-service network applications. Providing 32 echo-canceling channels, the device uses the algorithm to remove echoes and to meet the latest ITU-T specifications for high voice quality. The channels are divided into 16 groups of two each, which can be configured in normal, extended delay, or back-to-back organizations. Each group is individually controllable to provide either two channels at 64 ms or one channel at 128 ms. Availble in a 208-pin LBGA package, pricing is 93.32 each/10,000. A 160-pin quad flat-pack version, the MT9300B, is priced at $91.22 each/10,000.
