EMBEDDED SYSTEMS CONFERENCE, San Jose, CA. - Eight emerging members of the PIC24F 16-bit microcontroller family extend the line into smaller and lower cost 28- and 44-pin packages with 16 KB to 64 KB of flash memory and up to 8 KB of RAM. The PIC24FJ64GA002 is said to pack more memory than any other 28-pin, 16-bit MCU. Notable, all members of the PIC24FJ64GA004 family allow the use of all onboard peripherals via the ability to map them to any pin through a peripheral-pin-select mapping function. The devices come in QFN packages as small as a 6 mm x 6 mm. In addition to pin mapping, they feature two independent I2C, UART, and SPI channels.
